Immersive Theatre bar attracts rave reviews and raises £2,500 for Petersfield Theatre Group

Entertainment Events designed and implemented the immersive theatre lounge and bar for the November 2022  production of the Addams family at the Festival Hall in Petersfield.  This was the most recent in a series of immersive bars for Petersfield Theatre Group, following the 1968 Ford Dagenham social club for Made in Dagenham and the 1920s speakeasy for Chicago.

The partnership between Entertainment Events and Petersfield Theatre Group was recognised the assessment by the National Operatic and Dramatic Association (Noda) who wrote:

‘ Petersfield Theatre Group believes in giving the audience for each of its shows a completely immersive experience. The Addams Family was no exception. As soon as we entered the theatre, we were surrounded by spooky decorations. The bar, decked out as the Addams Family Mansion, was serving Addams’ themed cocktails, with special cakes and pastries on offer too. What a wonderful way to get us in the mood!

The whole project was designed and run by volunteers and as well as creating a fantastic atmosphere to support the show it raised £2,500 towards PTG funds, which are key to staging such spectacular shows.

The room was set up and designed by Belinda, Chris, Fay and Martin with great support from Sue P and artefacts lent by Justin and The Half Moon pub in Petersfield. Spooky entertainment in the form of fortune tellers was provided by Gabby and Iris, whilst the  cocktail and food bar was exquisitely  run by Charlotte, Totty, Sarah C, Helen, Sarah W, Libby, Ben and Sue I.

The next collaboration is in May, when a suitably immersive bar experience will be created in support of the PTG production of 9 to 5 the Musical and we are already thinking and working together to make it another exciting experience for everybody volunteering as well as enjoying it as customers.
